ARRL SFL Section TOWN HALL Meeting

The American Radio Relay League held it's first South Florida Region "Town Hall" meeting on June 30th, 2012 at the Palm Beach County Emergency Operations Center (EOC). The "Town Hall" meeting was officiated by local SKYWARN Spotter, amateur radio operator and ARRL South Florida Section Manager Dave Fowler K4DLF. Dave was assisted by Jeff WA4AW and Sandy WB2MBV

The "Town Hall" meeting gave area hams a chance to get the latest changes, updates and happenings both at the National ARRL
HQ and S. Florida Section levels. The meeting began with a face to face "Rag Chew" session over a light breakfast at the EOC.
After breakfast, the meeting moved into the EOC's state of the art operations room and Dave welcomed everyone and reviewed
the course outline for the day.

After a brief briefing, attendees conducted "Break-Out" round table workgroups. The morning round table sessions consisted of
DX/ Contesting including DXCC card checking,Club Presidents, Public Info Officers, Official Observers and Tech Specialist.
The afternoon session provided a second round with Official Observer and National Traffic
ARES/ NTS Traffic Handling  topics.

All attended the final open forum session on changes and planning  for up-coming ARRL SETs and local ARES news. The
"Town Hall" meeting concluded with recognition and certificates issued to new ARRL SFL appointees and achievement awards
for those area hams who have made a positive impact in amateur radio  and a raffle giving away ARRL amateur radio related
products.

Be sure to plan to attend the next "Town Hall" meeting.
